One of the hidden gems of RR

Even if on hiatus, a great story of this site, which deserves more recognition.

It takes place in the setting of RoyalRoad but with the dropping of quality in the recents volumes of LMS, it really make me wonder if this FF is not actually even better than the original. Quietus over Weed ? In terms of interest in the character of the MC, certainly.

Hell, even the setting of the game is less broken than the original !

The quality of the devolpment of the background is without a doubt way better than most of the stories using RR.

All of this in a very fluid style and with a nearly flawless grammar, this is definitely a recommendable read despite the fact that at this point we don't know if the author will one day update.

Well, 56 chapters of enjoyment : even if we never see the end of the road, the path traveled alone is worth it (not that new chapters wouldn't be welcomed, quite the contrary actually).

The fact that this great piece of work may remain unfinished makes me sad…Very very sad :(

Edit: I come back after a long time and what do I see??? An Update!!! Woohoo~

I really like this story.

i had not expected that it would be this good.

I really hope the writer will continue to update the story.

it has so much potential, I hope you won’t just drop it.

Keep up the good work, please.

Before finishing the first chapter I knew this would be #1 on my list.

Before finishing the first chapter I knew this would be #1 on my list.   Style: exemplifies antiheroes   Story: takes place in the Royal Road universe   Grammar: flawless   Characters: are very fleshed out   Unfortunately its no longer ongoing or maybe its better to say that it is now seven months inactive, since Necromancer is incomplete. On the bright side there are more chapters than any ongoing fan fiction is likely to ever have. So whether you want to read a chapter a day, week,  month, or try an read it all in one setting your still getting more story at a much higher quality.   I very highly recommend this FF

So far this is the best fan fiction on this site, absolutely amazing, please write more I have to know what happens!!!     The story line is well thought out and grammatically correct, along with how great the interactions are between the characters both in gane and out makes you not just interested in only one part of the sorry but all of it.

New blood to old classic

This is a old royal road classic that people probably don’t know. It is old enough that it still has AnmesicCat as the author ( who it is not). i had read this when i had assumed there were no updates,i had forgot. now with a claim to weekly chapters,  there is hope. It is about  an antisocial rich kid named Mortimer who explores realm of Royal road as a way of following his love interest. And he then just plays to explore the life. With AI racism, and little to no player interaction. It is very entertaining read

One of the best RPG-lit stories

My favorite fan fic, hands down. Been waiting forever for him to start writing more and am very happy he has chosen to continue this amazingly fun story.

Everything about it is solid. No harem or god like powers, no huge end goal or overarching plot, just a creepy guy doing funny things in the cool world of RR. I’ve given books on amazon 5 stars that were shorter less enjoyable than necromancer. Its a high bar Halosty sets for my RPG lit.

First and foremost, it's an old fashion Moonlight Sculptor fan-fiction. Secondly, the author needs to input a description/summary page. No, seriously, how do you expect anyone to read it if you don't catch their eye when they pop open the tab?

Style:

Really do wish the author would stick to one format. You have a few starting chapters with large paragraphs, then it degrades into one to three sentences, and finally goes back to large paragraphs. Also, the author seems to have forgotten how to space out the paragraphs in the last few chapters (around Chapter 68 - 72). Everything else is fine, truth be told. Each chapter is short, but gets its point across. It truly is a diamond in the rough. Just needs a description/summary to be among the top ten.

Story:

Not much to complain about, really. You have a kid named Mortimer Perrywinkle (odd name, to be sure) with a bit of a stalker issue towards a girl his age. He then goes into Royal Road, whereupon he receives a job as a sort of mortician's apprentice and becomes an associate of the local assassin's guild. Bear in mind, he hasn't taken a class just yet, and strives to become a wizard. Well, fate has other plans for him and will actually pull him away from becoming what he wants, and into something more.

Character:

Someone else can point out the flaws each character has. To me, however, it has the right amount of drama, even if the MC is a bit too OP in the real world after learning from someone like that. I also feel as though the author rushed the ambush scene, but that's my only complaint.

Grammar:

It's there, but it's not perfect. The author's grammar, punctuation, etc is a whole lot better than, say, 'Once a Hero's author. He/she is up there in the 'Forgotten Conqueror' with grammar. However, the author does need to work on their repetition. For example, there are scenes where Halosty writes a first paragraph with Mortimer, followed by whatever he wants the character to do. Then the next paragraph starts with Mortimer, again, followed by a third, fourth, and sometimes fifth. I understand these are web novels, but that is my only complaint thus far. Well, that and the spacing issue between chapters 68 and 72.
